Re: Spirit Infusion Pt. 2
Reading Part 1 of this post is required.
Alright I mentioned previously although Spirit Infusion can prove beneficial it can fail and currently there is no way to prevent failure like with modification or synthing. However you can improve success rates.
How to improve Spirit Infusion success rates?
Ideally you will want a Swordsmith or Gunsmith to do your spirit infusion for you, they excel over everyone else at this. The success rate is believed to be a 30% base but can be boosted these ways.
Method 1
Weapon/Gun Knowledge/Survival Technique will boost success by 1.6 x class. So having C9 WK and C5 (standard Retal 6 melee I believe) will get a +22 base success boost. Kinda pathetic really when you consider its your 10mil Vanguard or 8mil Fighting Maid at stake.
Method 2
Armsmith/Gunsmith will boost success by 2.5 x class, a C7-5 Gunmaker/Swordsmith will get a additional +18 base success to spirit infusion on top of the weapon/gun knowledge boosts they should inevitably have.
Method 3
AP gear get a natural 1.1x boost. >_>
Method 4
Nocturnes, Earth Spirits and Earth Goddesses give a 1.2x boost to success rate, whether this can be boosted with rebirths I do not know but I believe it doesn't.
In short, this means dedicated Swordsmith/Gunmaker characters will be enjoying near 80-90% success rates. Wheras full retal melees will be only getting 67% success rates at the most.
Further Implications

- Large Steelslicer Almost all 2 hand swords affinity/elemental boosts tend to be base effect making L.Steelslicers +15% rush +10% weapon damage characteristic excellent for almost any fusion.
- Survivor Series The only shotgun with a lng-r boost characteristic and +15% rapid can be put onto almost any other shotgun and provides a easier substitute for Deathbringers.
- Balmung Anti-muddle characteristic on any one hand sword? Yes thank you!
- Kozan of North/South They are the only tonfas with a characteristic bonus, meaning they can be fused with almost any other elemental tonfa with full bonuses intact.
- Unnatural Nambu/Iron Pipe Uh-oh, think you can guess where I'm going with this, furthermore its a base effect, yikes! (Update: I have reason to believe the pipe/guns stats would carry over too so it may only really suit enhancers still)
- Parabellum The shot damage boost is a characteristic gunmages just got a huge boost, time to throw out those Executors :X
- Handgun D A 5 slot one of these things will be absolutely insane with a Parabellum fused onto it.
- Clown Mace The -10% cooldown/cast characteristic can be quite easily combined with a Unnatural Iron Pipe's base effect for -10-% cast -40% cooldown!
Tops
- Ambitious Gear The +10 lng-r/spell/cls-r on the male Ambitious gear? They are neither base effect or characteristic but a part of the gears stats. This means you can override both the base effect for a higher general boost AND the vacant characteristic.
- Abyss Robe +20% stone characteristic is interesting as this can be combined with almost any cooldown top most of them tend to be base effect freeing up your face SS.
- Nostalgia As mentioned already the 25% XP/damage boost are both on characteristic so this can combined with almost any cooldown top.
- Jasmine/Mint +12% general damage characteristic can be mixed with almost any general boost top for 20% general boost!
- Mysterious Skirt The -15% cooldown +4 vit +8% general boost base effect can be fused to most bottoms like santa skirt or cowboy chaps.
- Stealth Pants -15% spin cooldown/rush cast characteristic is a unique one which you can probably fuse with alot of things.
- Cowboy Chaps again same deal as Stealth pants, -15% shot/rapid cooldown is quite a unique bonus.
- Aegis Most significantly the null stone characteristic can be spirit infused off to free up your glove Soul fuse slot.
- Blood Drain Same deal as the male Ambitious gear. Lng-r/Spell/Cls-r boosts are from the ring itself, meaning you can fuse almost anything to them while keeping the boost.
- Christmas Rings Yes remember these things? Not quite as useless as you might think, they are one of the few rings that have their damage boost as a base effect. This means they can be fused to almost any ring, boost rings/mithras are all almost exclusively characteristic boosts.
- False Almost all COMPs bonuses tend to be base effects except for this little nasty which is characteristic.
- Eyepatches Quite a while ago Panda was desperate to get rid of these, well as it turns out most face equips general boosts tend to be base effects. But the boosts on these things are characteristics.
Re: Spirit Infusion
Some of the clannies have been taking an interest to a update thats being hinted by the GM's. To save some time repeating myself I'm going to explain what it actually is and some of its implications, do take this all with a large dose of salt though. I may be wrong about some of the more technical issues but this is what I know so far.
What is Spirit Infusion?
The ability to fuse upto 2 pieces of gear onto a existing gear to change its bonuses, think of it like a second synth. Like how you may tarot and soul fuse a piece of gear, you may add a slot 1 infusion (base effect) and a slot 2 infusion (characteristic).
Why should I use Infusion?
Huge bonuses. For example remember those shitty old Papachiou's with the -20% MP cost that you couldn't sell even if you wanted to? You could fuse a Windgod Sword onto one for +20% force damage and -20% MP cost. Always wanted to use your Nostalgia top but can't? Spirit infuse it onto whatever top you want and bring your +25% Demon XP/damage bonus whenever you like! Also some weapons like the 30% elemental weapons may be upgraded to limit break versions using special infusion recipes.
How does it work?
After taking a quest from a certain NPC which I believe to be the Dwarf in Babel you'll gain this ability. Far as I know anyone can do spirit infusion. However here is catch 32, there is a success rate and it can blow up in your face. Except in this case you won't be destroying simple demon crystals but your weapons and gear. As usual the base equip that is receiving the infusion is exempt from blowing up. It'll also cost you to spirit infuse weapons, as of now I am unsure how much macca but it'll probably be quite abit.

You'll have to keep up with me as I'm going to delve into the more technical aspects of it now. First off is the requirements for a spirit infuse, whether an item can be fused or not they must fufill these requirements.

Those bonuses you see in the flavour text of your equipments are split into 2 types of bonuses. These are characteristics and base effect.
Now heres the important part, if you infuse something onto a piece of gear that already has a characteristic bonus the bonus will be overidden. Don't worry if this confuses you, weapon/equipment description window will be ravamped to display these bonuses properly when Spirit Infusion comes. What it means though is if you try infuse a Saintly Nostalgia onto your Fighting Maid the F-Maid will LOSE its cast bonus.
Example:-
(Fighting Maid)
Base Effect = -25% cooldown, 8% general damage
Characteristic = -25% cast time
(Saintly Nostalgia)
Base Effect = 8% general boost
Characteristic = +25% XP to demons, +25% demon general damage.

I guess the title says it all. Since we've never really had much of a clan infrastructure to begin with, I figured this might be a good start. Also, I'd like to limit the number of subs to 15 (with 5 per region).

New Gamesages rant
So yeah, the new gamesages have been picked. Can't really say I'm all too happy about the picks. There are a few good picks though. TheCookieMonsta and lovableneko are the only ones I really approve of. I've known cookie since my first character and she was always fun to chat with. She was also the one that taught me how to successfully do deep ichi back when no one knew about it. She been playing this game for a long time now and I know she knows her stuff. Lovableneko is another oldie that knows their way around this game. I never really knew her but I do know she was one of the 3 original white divine wing owners before it got spammed in that one fc. She's a massive AP spender but that really shouldn't affect her gamesage-ness.
Now for my disapproval.
thanos4eva- There's just something about this guy that gives me a bad feeling. Maybe it's the fact that he himself said that he wasn't going to make a good gamesage. Or maybe it's cause he said he has no patience against dumb people which GS' usually have to deal with. This post made me lulz. 76 vs 93 and in all reality 76 should win?!? Beating a lv 93 isn't much to brag about and something you really shouldn't brag about if you're lv 76. Now if it was a lv 30 vs lv93 then yeah that's something to brag about. And another thing, where did he get the reasoning that a 76 should win in all reality. Also lv 60 with good expertise is useless in ichi? Hmm I don't know. When I was 40something on panda`, I could basically solo ichi. At 60something, I was able to thor(my version of rambo xD). I'm pretty sure a well built lv60 isn't useless. That statement he made was just dumb. Yeah that's enough ranting about this guy for now.
SHARKLEG- aka NAme - Not much against this guy. I don't really disapprove of him but then again, I don't approve either. Only one thread that he started made me want to disapprove of him being a GS. Short summary of the thread, he singles out Sepher(aka thecrack1992-btw this guy is already an idiot) and basically calls him an idiot. The thing that kind of irritated me about this thread though is the fact that he didn't do anything to help the party. He just bailed on them and doesn't even explain to them why. He also argues that not all enhancers have cotw which I do agree with him on that but he had it. He could have made less of a fuss if he just used his cotw and enhanced for the party. I just hope as a GS he doesn't make anymore dumb threads like these.
Those are my disapprovals. As for DjHarlock, I just hope he turns out to be a better GS than he was on Poker Heroes.
On the other note, I'll be back sooner than I thought. My little trip was fun and I'm missing megaten xD. I'll probably log on some time next week. I did a bit of job searching too and I actually have an interview on Monday. I also got a new mouse. Got a wireless bluetrack mouse. basically a step above laser mice. The blue light it gives off is mesmerizing. It's working better that my previous laser mouse and I can use it on almost any type of surface like my carpet or the piles of textbooks and paperwork lying around in my room xD

1. Cave doesn't care, as far as I know, it's Aeria trying to nerf the inc.
2. Yeah it's different, gear forms an integral part of your build and Nocturne aside (which has been largelyboycotted by pvpers) don't give a real big boost when you think about it. Especially when you consider the difference of older sets to newer sets (3/4% difference) which go pretty cheap.
The point is many go into pvp as endgame to test their builds, see how well they've done and how they stack up to others. Inc is an easy way out of actually working on your build. Now, thankfully, there's only a handful of good pvpers (or those that would be good) that use inc. Still it's pretty galling to lose when you should win. A perfect example of this is when I got Cordelia, who was on prto inc and hustle (not just an accu, she/he admits it) one shot away from defeat and they mana then run away. Last time she/he got beat they had a good QQ over it and quit the match. It's pretty sad when you get to that point.
For the most part, it just means I have to use twice as many bullets to take someone out. However, when I should have beat a lvl 95 melee twice over and don't I'm gonna bitch and moan. Yeah I can incense back but I enjoy a pretty good reputation in pvp and I'd like to keep it that way.

was a mighty leader of all panda
who ripped beasts and lions
apart with his bare hands
and he led them out of the mountains
and on the wide open plain of shibuya
they made a city fair
calling it shinjuku babel
and men/women build a great tower there
from metal/and sand plastered with

their Ziggurat was rising high.
They tried to build a gate between human and demon

Re: pvp incense
I don't pvp much, farm bp now and then.
But for all the ppl who QQ about incense and throw out accusations:
1. This is a money game. Obviously we've not had supposed 'patch' to nerf incense in pvp yet so I'm assuming its not a priority of Cave's.
2. Is using beefed-up cash items REALLY all that different anyway?
STFU and stop QQing. If you suck you suck, get over it. If you have reason to know they're incensing, incense back.

Taking a break
Well some of you already know but for those who weren't there, I'm taking a break for a while. Recently, I've been losing interest in doing anything. I guess the one year+ of playing this game has caught up to me. Before I lose interest in the whole game itself, I decided to take a break. Plus I'm going on a road trip with my gf some time next week. You guys don't have anything to worry about though, I will come back, just don't know when exactly.

Juicy discussion from last night (cos you guys are being boring)
thought I'd post my accumulation of info I've found on this so far... since nobody else was seemed aware that we had seen changes to enhancement already. XD
As playing a (teehee male) enhancer right now for funsies (and planning my regal enhancer out to see if the build is even going to work with the games 'possible' changes), I've been trying to research where this class is going.. and just how its going to affect the common builds that people have been able to utilize due to the extremely broken system. Theres been a ton of rumors floating around and dammit I hate not knowing if any of them are true or not.

I'll be honest, this is my first time dealing with a blog and I have no idea what I'm doing! >.<
Well, anyway, I'm hoping that we can turn this into a group blog, some place to vent about the game or just talk about poop...
and we all know there's A LOT of poop... *points to chalice's depository* >.>
